To be honest, when I started trying to find someone that inspires me from the Annenberg Space for Photography website I had the hardest time picking someone. There were so many that caught my eye and made me want to go do new things, but I did not have the first clue on how to do what they did. I felt like I had to do something close to what the photographer did, and that put immense pressure on me and I felt like ideas were being stifled. Thankfully, I found Andrew Harto. He focuses on environmental portraiture and this gave me the idea to go into my backyard and see what I can play with.
While my photos are not portraits due to the fact I did not really have somebody to photography, they are what I consider to be my environment. I also decided to see what would happen if I did fast actions in the photos and what would show up in the photos. This was inspired a little bit by Art Wolfe and how he uses colors. While I was influenced by both artists, I took their themes and changed it just a little bit to suit what I wanted to do in my photos to allow myself a little more experimentation. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this assignment.
